LL Flooring Background

Tom Sullivan started up the company as Lumber Liquidators in 1996 as a reseller of scrap wood and flooring. He literally liquidated lumber. The brand gradually expanded its inventory to include vinyl flooring, laminate, engineered, hardwood, and even bamboo flooring. Twenty-five years later, a small company that launched from the back of a trucking yard now has hundreds of stores across the US.

Lumber Liquidators then re-branded themselves as “LL Flooring” as of 2020, with its headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. The name change came after they no longer simply sold lumber, but also to create a fresh start after some rumors they were selling inferior quality materials. However, at this time LL Flooring stores stock a broad array of flooring products that are across the scale. LL Flooring continues to focus on being the low-cost leader. LL Flooring also tries to now maintain a focus on more eco-friendly products – as they advertise to customers.

In April 2020, Lumber Liquidators officially changed its name to LL Flooring in order to better reflect who we are. No lumber. No liquidation. Whether you’re a new DIYer, or you’re a seasoned Pro helping a client, we have high quality flooring and all the tools and services you need to bring your vision to life and transform your home.

LL Flooring Cost

LL Flooring continues to be a low-cost leader for flooring. And, with so much volume they have buying power to negotiate lowest prices directly from the manufacturers. However, their strong suite is the lower cost products rather than high-end flooring. With a quick look on their website for example you’ll see Laminate flooring ranging from $0.79/square foot to $3.79/square foot. LL Flooring also offers special financing for certain projects with a higher budget. Here are some sample prices for the types of flooring offered:

Top Picks from LL Flooring

Here are some of the most popular, best quality, and unique products offered at LL Flooring. Some are only available online, and some are the favored picks of Floor Sellers staff.

Duravana Flooring

If you’re shopping for new flooring and you’re torn between wood, laminate, or vinyl, you ought to try Duravana. The new Duravana Hybrid Resilient Flooring combines the best of wood, vinyl and laminate into one super plank that’s perfect for families.  It is a uniquely LL Flooring product.

Duravana flooring is made up of multiple layers so you get the benefits of multiple types of hard flooring. There’s a core wood layer, but there is no vinyl in the product. The planks themselves are waterproof, and the flooring also features a “water-tight locking mechanism to provide double protection from everyday spills and accidents.”

The new Duravana flooring is 100-percent PVC-free and GreenGuard certified for low chemical emissions. For non-hardwood flooring, Duravana looks better than we’d expect – like real wood. The top protective layer mimics natural wood grain. So you get the texture of wood flooring, with water resistant durability.

What LL Flooring is traditionally known for is, of course, lumber and wood so Wood Flooring is by default their signature product line. And, LL Flooring has a wide selection of Solid Hardwood Flooring – pre-finished, unfinished, and engineered. The hardwood brand their best known for is Bellawood.

Price range for Bellawood flooring ranges from about $4/sq. ft. to $14/sq. ft. depending on current sales and species of wood. The Bellawood Artisan is the top quality on the higher end of the scale. All of it legitimate high-grade hardwood of standard 3/4 thickness and various widths.

One of their most popular examples is this Bellawood Artisan white oak flooring. It’s pre-finished, has great coloring, and will work in any space or style. Also comes with a 100 Year Warranty!

Vinyl Flooring

Wood flooring may be what LL Flooring is most known for, but vinyl flooring is most likely what they sell the most. In fact we counted over 700 individual vinyl floor products in their inventory last we looked. This surely means that if you’re in the market for vinyl flooring there’s got to be something for you. However, with all those choices you’ll need a hand sorting it out.

If you’d like to shop around for the best prices on Coreluxe you’re out of luck, because LL Flooring is the only place it’s sold!

CoreLuxe flooring comes with an SPC core—meaning that it’s made to stand up to heavy traffic and wear. There are three lines of Coreluxe flooring:
